Summary: I suppose the kindest thing to say is that The Monkey Room is a "work in progress". The hotel/hostal is right in the centre of Marbella Old Town and although it sets out in adverts to be "chic" and "cool" it has a long way to go. While I was there a workman was on site preparing another cubby hole as a bedroom and I think my room was only half-finished. The nights were cold and only a single sheet covered the bed and, after moving my room to the one in the photo (instead of on the roof) I found the aircon not up to heating the room and a washbasin without any hot water plumbed in. It rained for part of the time and it was almost impossible to get my clothes dry. The photos make it look good but "buyer beware".
