Positive: The last frontier boutique resort is uniquely close to nature. Four rooms stand over 100m above the access track facing the Kinabatangan river. The rooms are spacious, cooled by an overhead fan. The food was generally excellent, served in a small restaurant with great views over surrounding secondary rainforest. The river tours and morning hikes very interesting and enjoyable. Ryan really knows about wildlife! On the way up the 540 steps when we arrived we were pleased to see a wild orangutan in the undergrowth near the path. Amazing.

Negative: A few mosquitoes in the afternoon - but they can sell you mosquito repellent.
