Negative: I have stayed in a lot of chateaus in France. This was the most beautiful privately owned one. We were the only ones there for that night. The family juggles their family and daily life nicely. It has been in their family for generations. We told them at the last minute that we would eat dinner there. They set up a table for 2 in their living room in front of the fire and served us dinner there. The house is impressive. they isn’t an inch that doesn’t shout luxury. The owner took time showing us around the house and about the work they have done to keep up the maintenance. The breakfast was amazing in their beautiful dining room.
