Summary: Gary was a very warm, friendly and welcoming host and explained everything well, including recommended places to eat or get food nearby. The room was quaint but a little tired. A minor thing was that there was a cigarette burn on the surface of the large chest of drawers / dresser. The ensuite room I stayed in was located above the main road so initially I couldn’t have the window open, until after messaging the hosts via the app. As it was late I didn’t get a reply so I ventured into another room to borrow a fan. If I had realised earlier I would have asked before retiring for the evening as the room got incredibly hot. The room was listed as having free toiletries so I didn’t pack shower gel to take with me. The shower bottle provided in my room had a dribble left in it, only just enough for me. The soap dispenser was broken on one side leaving a jagged, sharp edge. And unfortunately the bed was quiet lumpy so I woke up quite a few times, experiencing the sensation I was going to roll off the bed so I did not sleep well. Also to note, the stairs are very narrow and steep. Plus, the hosts have dogs and birds which were barking and squawking well into the night.
