Positive: The apartment is spacious. Ceiling fans in kitchen area and bedroom keep the temp comfortable. Amos checked on us every day, answered all our questions promptly, and occasionally left us a gift of fresh papaya from his trees. The apartment is situated away from the major tourist hotels, more in the "regular people" part of town, which we really liked. It was a brief walk to shops for food and a brief walk to the beaches, which are LOVELY!

Negative: The only seating is on the front porch, which looks on to a large yard covered in rocks and the foundation for another building some day. There were a few small papaya trees, and the yard is enclosed by a tall wall. Amos lives in the apartment next to the rental, about 3 meters away. Also on the property, but on the other side of the wall, is a bar that Amos owns and runs. It gets pretty loud at night with music, talking and yelling and stays loud until very late. Also, the bed in the right-hand bedroom has a big dip/hole in the mattress. The other bedroom smelled musty and unpleasant, but it might have gotten better if aired out.
