Bring your family to our comfy, sun-kissed 3BR/2BA floor-through beach casa in chill East End. A surf break is steps from the house and complimentary beach passes are provided to guests. Hose off after a day in the sun then grill out on the patio. LIRR runs direct from Grand Central and Penn Station and connects in Jamaica from Atlantic Terminal, Bklyn.
The space
We are so excited to share our house with you! We live on the 2nd floor with our teenage daughter and 8-year-old Chihuahua mix named Lola. We moved in October and are busy readying the place for guests! There is a possibility that we will spend the month of July away to afford greater privacy for our guests -- and our daughter will be away all summer, so it will just be my husband and me. We are in our late 40s and both work in education. We have been airbbning for years, so we know that guests want to feel free to be themselves in their space (indoors and out).
Outdoor spaces are mixed, private and shared. We plan to have a private patio space off the kitchen for guests to grill, dine, and chill out outside. You will also have shared use of our huge yard. (Really, it's big!). We have a Solo Stove for s'mores and a covered porch area in the back of the house for your use as well that's part of the shared area. I am a gardener and will have a raised bed garden in the shared area that I bet your kids will love harvesting!
The apartment is kid-friendly (the kid's bedroom is my favorite room in the apartment -- it's got two twin beds that are low to the ground, a full area rug, and a reading nook. I'll have children's books, magna-tiles, and some board games there as well.) Side note: I used to run a playschool coop in Brooklyn for 6 families and would be happy to babysit your kiddos for a reasonable fee if you want to get out and about for a little adult time.
The other two bedrooms host a queen-sized and full-sized bed respectively. Their windows face the shared yard. The rooms are sunny but also private, as they face the back and side yards. There's a little corridor that separates the common area from the bedrooms. Oh - we also have a little night light/white noise maker in the kid's room.
If there's anything you'd like to have that I haven't already prepared, please let me know and I will make sure to add that to the place. We would like your experience to be fantastic and consider ourselves more as concierges -- we are happy to accept Instacart orders to prep your kitchen with groceries, stock up on will cold beer and wine (and milk and juice!), etc. At the same time, we believe in privacy and making sure you don't feel under our gaze. We are pretty chill folks with our main concern being that we respect our neighbors while sharing our quirky (and big!) place with others.
