A Stone Home (est.19thC.) located 1.8 km from the center of the city of Chania. It can comfortably accommodate up to 6 guests on two floors. It is located about 15’ on foot to the city center or a 15’ walk to the nearest sandy beach. It features a wonderful terrace and access to an organic tree garden and plot. An ideal location to escape the city’s crowds but with many conveniences right at your feet. Air-con (2 units), wifi (24mbps), TV, washer and dishwasher available.
Our stone house is 120m2 and can comfortably accommodate up to 6 persons in 2 double bedrooms and one common area. On the upper level, there is one master bedroom with an ensuite bathroom (shower) and two single beds that can be joined to make a double.
The room also offers study space. There is one more double bedroom with a queen sized bed while there is a common area with a sofa that turns into an extra double bed. Both bedrooms offer air-conditioning units
There is a fully equipped kitchen with all modern electrical appliances. The ground level offers access to the lovely front terrace with outdoor dining table and access to our wonderful grounds and tree gardens.
Our house’s history dates back to the Ottoman period. It was inhabited by our ancestors in the year 1922 during the Greek - Ottoman population exchanges. We tried hard to preserve the architecture of this beautiful building, the stories and unforgettable memories it carries on its thick stone walls.
You are welcome to wander around our front yard, patio and gardens. It’s a private area and safe for kids. In the flower garden and the small family field surrounding the house, you will find plants and old varieties of Mediterranean trees. We also continue to grow our own vegetables. We have our own small family production of vegetables, dairy products, eggs and meat.
From time to time we may pass by to take care of the small field, pick up vegetables and feed our few domesticated animals like chickens and rabbits. If you want, you can join us in this soul liberating procedure of working the field and being connected to nature. Upon season and availability you can try our fresh fruit & vegetables!

Our house is located in the suburbs of Chania and just 1.8km from the city center. Our home is well hidden from the main road so it is quiet and the conditions are perfect for relaxation after an excursion to the sea or mountains of Crete.
Within walking distance you can find shops, atms, supermarkets, bakeries and cafes. The house is located on a strategic point, just a couple of km from the city center to the east and no more than 2 or 3 km of distance to the world famous beach complex of Agioi Apostoloi to the west. You can also access the mountainous areas quite easily since the exit to the highway and the country back-roads is just a 500-700 m. distance.
Just to name a few more unique nearby destinations there is the ancient city of Aptera with Classic, Roman and Byzantine monuments some 20 km far away from the house. Also at about half an hour’s car distance radius from the house you will find monuments of great historical and architectural significance at unique locations of natural beauty, monasteries and temples dating back to the Byzantine empire.
*Please be aware that our rates exclude an additional stayover tax. For stays from April to October, the tax is €15 per night, while from November to March, it is €4 per night. This tax applies to all bookings starting January 1st, 2024. Guests are required to pay this additional tax directly to the check-in assistant who will be responsible for key handover upon arrival.
