In this case our Chalupa was built around 1830 of huge timbers and was carefully renovated in 1995. It sleeps up to 4 couples and up to 6 additional children/adults comfortably in separate beds.
The cottage is fully furnished, recently re-equipped and sits in in the village of Rokytnice (pronounced Rocket-neet-say) at the base of the scenic Krkonose (pronounced kerk-ken-oh-shea) or giant mountains, about 1.5 hours north of Prague.
With some certainty, the time spent in our Chalupa will be one of the most positively memorable vacations you ever take.
Rokytnice is teaming with activities, particularly in the winter and summer seasons. In the winter, the town boasts the longest ski slope in the Czech Republic - comparable to Stowe, VT in the USA. In the summer, hiking and mountain biking are the most common activities. Excellent restaurants and standard ski village shops (a supermarket, ski/bike rental locations, etc) are located throughout the town. Nearby alpine towns of Spindleruv Mlyn and Harrachov have additional activities like a bobsled run and ropes courses in the summertime.
