The Space:
Our house is located 2 minutes on foot from the Shaw/Howard University Station, and from there guests can be at the steps of the White House steps in under 20 minutes!
The living space is bright and airy - windows line the expansive space, and even with curtains drawn one can feel a sense of sunshine with the unique and bright color scheme; guests will find themselves in perpetually sunny spirits.
The main floor holds a lovely West Elm Sofa Bed (opens up to reveal a queen-sized bed) in the living room, perfect for unwinding after traversing the city just outside your door.
House has a fully equipped kitchen with loads of counter space, modern appliances, and a veritable coffee bistro! Coffee lovers will feel right at home with four different mechanisms to meet your java fix (French press, drip, single-cup and espresso); guests can rest easy knowing a jolt of caffeine awaits them on command.
Espresso-toned cabinets and warmly hued countertops add a wonderful juxtaposition to the sunny & colorful living space. The open floor plan allows guests to whip up a feast while remaining a part of the action. Enjoy your meals at the stunning, live edge dining table (with seating for 6+). It`sperfect for enjoying family meals together. For those traveling on business it`s an excellent brainstorming hub - conducive to bouncing ideas off of one another, and the surrounding space is sure to inspire. Want to dine outdoors - the kitchen has direct access to the spacious, quiet second floor deck.
Glide up the wrought iron staircase (paying homage to the historic bones) to reveal the bedrooms. Connecting the two is an enormous full-sized mirror hall that will have even the least fashionable strut their best runway walk.
Take your pick between bedrooms - both boast unique features that will have guests wondering which one is the master! Each bedroom has a king-sized bed (luxurious and comfy), en suite full baths and Smart TV`s - guests can fall asleep to their favorite programs and with 3 TV`s in the home, no one will miss their "must see`s".
One bedroom overlooks a darling bay window - perfect for people and storm watching, or just cozyingup with a good book.
The other includes a laptop friendly workplace that also accesses a charming, spacious deck with seating and a table.
There is a small parking space (perfect for a compact car) beneath the patio/balcony guests are welcome to use.

The location is the epicenter of DC’s music and dining scene, always the place to be seen in D.C! Walk around the corner and catch a wide range of music shows at the historic Howard Theater, or a few more blocks to the famous “9:30 Club”.
A short distance in either direction takes you to the Right Proper Brew Pub, the Shaw Tavern, Bistro Boehm, Shaw Library and a bucketful of coffee houses, fitness centers and “pop-up” eating and entertainment venues.
A few more blocks brings you theU Street Corridor and14th St, just minutes away on foot from all the fabulous restaurants bars and shopping that this hip neighborhood has to offer. Grocery stores, pharmacy and every other essential are just a few minutes’ walk from the home.
Getting Around:
No need for a car at this location (although an off-street parking space lies outside the back steps!) With the Shaw-Howard Metro (Green and Yellow lines) just steps away, you can be at the National Mall, White House, the Capitol, Monuments and Museums, The Wharf or practically any place else in the city in 20 minutes or less.
Prefer something more active? Most central Washington DC features are all within walking. Several Capital Bikeshares are located short strolls away; they offer bike rentals by the hour at excellent rates - a truly awesome way to explore the city, the Potomac Tow Path, the Anacostia Waterfront, and nearby Virginia and Maryland! .
Buses also run up and down nearby 7th Street, U Street and Florida Avenue, just a short walk away.
