Positive: The space has plenty of character. Basically the whole flat is open space, with large windows overlooking the city. You really can't beat the view from the living room terrace. Pictures don't make it justice. As this is essentially a loft conversion, it sits above the roof line of the entire surroundings. The terrace is large, furnished, but also secluded. We ended up using it way more than we anticipated in the cool summer nights of Sofia. Dedicated work space with a spare monitor was superb. I work in finance and normally go to coworking places, but I worked from the apartment on one occasion and it was just like at home. The hydromassage tub is superb. I always rent places with these amenities and they are often in disappointing condition as are hard to maintain. This one was great and made for excellent relaxation after the gym. The bathroom that it is in also comes with its own terrace, which is something I have rarely seen!
Negative: There are way too many items in the apartment. I get it that it aims to create the character of the space, and it succeeds for the most part, but it goes overboard and it feels cluttered and like someone else is living there permanently. I dig some of the larger decorations, the books and the Uruguayan flag, but there are also, amongst other things, various electronic gadgets, old paperwork like printed PowerPoint slides, an expired passport and photos, boxes and even sneakers. The bathroom terrace is full of old mops, boxes and boards which make it unpleasant to use. I'd say the space needs another round of decluttering and it will feel fantastic. One thing, however, which really needs fixing, is the second bathroom. Water comes in from the large bathroom or the adjacent terrace. It goes right under the wooden deck, rotting it from the inside. The smell is brutal and really makes the bathroom unusable. It is far from everything and after ventilating the apartment for a bit, you stop smelling it in the rest of the space, but it is right next to the front door so is the first thing one will notice. It will likely need ripping apart, disinfecting and redoing, but it will only get worse over time if not addressed.
