Three Bear's Hideout is an immaculately cared for chalet style mountain home. Three spacious bedrooms, 2 full baths, beautiful fully loaded Game room. Large natural light family room looks out over tree tops. Gorgeous well equipped marble and granite kitchen with Viking stove to cook meals to enjoy and remember. Large backyard where kids can play, sled and explore nature. Short walk/drive to ski slopes/hiking trails and short drive to the lake. Fireplace. The space
Three Bear’s Hideout has only recently been made available as a vacation rental. For many years, Three Bear's was an immaculately cared for full time family home. And that love and care is what makes Three Bear’s special among family retreats. It’s what you really want for your family – clean, beautiful, inviting, warm and wonderful. You will feel like you are in your very own mountain home.
Three Bear's Hideout is a love at first sight kinda home. We love the beautiful large park-like yard with its elegant landscaping. The spacious kitchen with its granite counter tops, luxury appliances. Breakfast on the deck. Dinners around the large dining table. Being with family and friends as we watch the fireplace crackle in the spacious living room. Four seasons of ever changing views through the glass walls. And finally, curling up in the wonderful beds after a long day on the slopes or at the lake. These are the experiences that make Three Bear’s Hideout special, and we hope you will enjoy being here as much as we do.
We can’t say it enough. We LOVE the setting. When you are here, you are truly in a very private and peaceful setting with lots of space to entertain on the wrap around deck, cook outdoors on the gas BBQ, soak in the hot tub under the trees. The lot is both sloped and terraced, fully landscaped with lawns, paths and amazing trees, so it's great for either sunbathing, reading a book, or your own private snow sledding.
You can enter through a door that opens into the garage/GAME ROOM. For your entertainment, the game room has an indoor arcade basketball, foosball, convertible pool/table tennis, Dart, smart Roku TV, plenty of sitting with sofa, bean bags and bar stools.
This can be used as a mud room in the winter, lots of space for storing your gear, and here you will find the washer and dryer.
Up the stairs on the next level are the living/dining rooms, kitchen, and 1 bedroom with full bath. With a south facing exposure, and 3 sliding glass doors, this level is very bright and airy. It has the perfect angle for dining as the sun sets thru the trees. The living room has a huge cozy couch, which can easily seat a crowd, just in front of the large wood burning fireplace and 50' flat screen with surround sound. Wireless internet, cable TV and phone service will keep you connected to the world. (That is only if you want to stay connected! Many seem to want to escape into the comfort and seclusion for special family time.)
With the open concept in mind, the dining area, with a large table for everyone to sit around, resides between the living and kitchen spaces.
Opening onto the living/dining space is my favorite room: the kitchen, a dream to cook in. Recently remodeled, it features granite counters with island, stainless steel professional grade appliances, including a 6 burner Viking stove with double oven, cherry wood cabinets, trash compactor and a unique gas burning fireplace for additional ambiance. That’s right - there is a second fireplace just for the kitchen. You will love this feature in the winter. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to cook up and serve an amazing feast in style. If you love to cook you will love Three Bear’s kitchen.
On the next level are two bedrooms and a bath with shower.
The back bedroom has a king size bed, hillside views, and a ceiling fan.
The front bedroom we call the “Three Bears Room.” It is huge, about 15ft by 17ft. There are matching log beds: a queen, a full and a twin. Great kids retreat. The sliding glass doors and a skylight let in lots of sun during the day, and star gazing thru the tree tops at night. The balcony also make for a great place to check out new fallen snow in the morning or have a cup of coffee.
All of the beds in the home feature luxury sheets, pillow top mattresses, fluffy down comforters, and mountain décor quilts.
The overall décor of the home is light, bright and airy, with soft neutrals and sage greens, both wood flooring and carpets, woodsy pictures and of course, the Big Bear mountain flair.
Guest access
Guests have access to the entire home and grounds. Gas BBQ and hot tub are on the wrap around deck, ready for you to enjoy!
What makes this cabin unique
Our yard is a sanctuary. Even the many birds who wake us in the morning with their songs think so! Bring some unsalted peanuts for the Blue Birds, they love them! Buy your favorite brand of coffee, brew up a strong early morning cup and listen to the wind rustle thru the aspens. It's magical.
The landscaping is the first sign of the many years of love and care that make Three Bear's Hideaway a special place for making family memories.
Other things to note
Garage is not available to park cars since it houses a fantastic game room.
Our home provides parking for max 3 cars. There is parking for 2 cars at flat street level. 3rd car can be parked on the driveway.
Please note that the driveway to the garage is STEEP and not recommended for low profile cars.
In Winter Conditions the main driveway is accessible with 4 WD/chains only.
Two night minimum per booking. Holidays generally are 4 night minimum.
