This rustic-modern updated home is the best of both worlds. The young owners really nailed the modern mountain vibe here. Located 20 minutes outside of South Lake Tahoe in the Christmas Valley neighborhood, this home has 3 bedrooms, a loft, 2 bathrooms, sleeps 6 and has plenty of driveway parking! Small kiddos do not count in the occupancy. What is unique about this home is the HUGE LOT, filled with granite boulders for climbing, a hot tub, string lights and much more! It’s very private, cozy and cool.

1. Strictly no hot tub use after 10pm *only if applicable
2. 10pm - 8am is the county quiet time for all rentals
3. Trash goes into the bear box only and is not to be left outside
4. We cannot host extra people at this home or allow parties.
5. No extra cars, parking on the street OR on the dirt.
KNOW BEFORE YOU GO!
- PET RULES: This home can accommodate up to 2 Dogs, with an additional Pet Fee of $35 per day/per pet. This fee is not included in your final booking price. If you are bringing Dogs, please contact our Customer Care Team after booking to pay the pet fee. Pet rules: keep pets leashed at all times even in the backyard as it’s not fully fenced, keep dogs leashed when on walks and out of neighbor’s yards, always pick up after your pets and do not leave them unattended in the home. You are responsible for any and all pet related damage. Keep in mind, because this home is pet friendly, there will be some dog hair.
- WALL HEATER: This home does not have central heat. There is a brand new wall heater downstairs that heats the whole home. You will want to keep the bedroom windows open to allow the heat to enter. PLUS - The wood burning stove works great in the Winter! Please bring your own wood.
- ROOF SHED: This home has a roof that is very slanted and prone to what is called shedding where it releases all of it’s snow at once. We do our best to shovel it but during heavy Winters, you may arrive to the side door and window covered.
- GARAGE: The garage is not accessible or used for parking. You will see why. The driveway can hold 4 cars very easily though.
- EXTRA SNOW: This home is located in the snowiest neighborhood in South Lake Tahoe. We do our best to shovel out the hot tub but it might be an adventure to get to in heavy snow years.
- QUIET NEIGHBORHOOD: This home is located in a quiet, residential neighborhood. In Tahoe, it’s so quiet at night that you could hear a pin drop. As a result, we prefer to host quiet groups that will abide by all of the county laws. We appreciated it!
- TRAVEL INSURANCE: We HIGHLY recommend that all of our lovely guests purchase travel insurance, as we normally do NOT refund for COVID, smoke, fires, weather, snow storms, road closures, etc. We cannot stress this enough.
- WINTER TRAVEL WARNING: During the Winter, it’s required by law that all vehicles in Tahoe carry chains, even 4WD vehicles. It is NOT recommended that you come in a mini van, Tesla or other low profile vehicle. Our roads are steep and icy so even when it’s not snowing, Tahoe is hard to navigate. We recommend SUVs, Subarus and Trucks with snow/all-terrain tires. We also recommend having some Winter driving experience.
- POWER OUTAGES: Power outages are VERY common in Tahoe. They are especially common during Winter storms. Tahoe homes do not have generators so if the power goes out, the heat might also go out. Coming to Tahoe during the Winter requires a lot of patience and a sense of adventure.
- NO AC: This home, like most in Tahoe, does not have AC but we do provide fans.
- HOME OWNER OWNED: This home is owned by a family or private owner and not by an investor, so you will be renting someone’s home. Grand Welcome does not own this home but helps the owner to manage it.
- HIGH FIRE RISK: Lake Tahoe is a high-risk fire area. Fireworks, wood fire pits, smoking/improper disposal of cigarette butts and charcoal BBQs are STRICTLY prohibited.
- BEARS: Bears and other wildlife frequent this area so make sure to lock up when you leave the home, always lock your car doors and view from afar.
- MOUNTAIN LIFE: Spiders, cobwebs and little mountain mice are common in the mountains.
- BBQ/DECKS: The BBQ is not serviced and the decks are not shovelled in the winter due to the low temperatures and high snow levels.
- DAMAGE WAIVER: Built into your clean fee is an “Accidental Damage Waiver Policy”. You are covered for anything seen as accidental and anything seen as neglectful, you may be charged for. It’s best to report all damage to us when it occurs. We are pretty understanding!
- SECURITY: Most of our homes have exterior only security cameras and noise decibel monitoring systems to ensure we are in compliance with the county ordinance but we take our guests privacy VERY seriously. There is never indoor cameras and the exterior ones are not monitored. Most owners only look to see bears and snow levels :)
- SATISFACTION: If you are in anyway not satisfied, please text our local team as we prefer to handle issues when you are here to ensure your stay with us exceeds expectations! If we are alerted to issues after check out, you may not be refunded so it’s important to report them right away.
- REVIEWS: “If you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all.” Same is true for reviews. We please ask that you have some grace and compassion when leaving them and we will do the same when we review you. Remember, that this is someones home before it’s a rental.
