Nafplion City Centre Apartment | Rooftop ocean and mountain view - see the city from my rooftop!

1 Bedroom Apartment

If privacy and the best view in town are what you want - you won't be disappointed! I'm a 10-minute walk from the tourist area in the old town, which is perfect if you prefer not to be in the middle of the action. You'll have an entire rooftop to yourself and a cozy kitchen to cook in. I prefer a minimum stay of 7 days, but am flexible for shorter stays, just check my calendar. If I'm not busy I can sometimes swing one night, so feel free to message me.
PLEASE NOTE: For the summer months, I'm not able to coordinate any arrivals on Sunday.
Here is more detailed information if you'd like to take a minute and read:
First of all, thank you for choosing my home – I hope you enjoy it as much as I do! Get a coffee and read the following information when you have a minute. I recommend you read this for your own benefit and comfort.
So back to my home. When you enter the main entrance on street level, you’ll go up a few steps and notice a small European elevator on the left which you'll take up to the 2nd floor (3rd floor for North Americans). If you didn't pack light you might have to make 2 trips. Then there’s a staircase up to the rooftop and you’ll have arrived to the best view in town!
The main door to my rooftop home needs a little push and then a turn of the key – it’s a door with a lot of history… Speaking of the door, when you’re home you’ll probably leave it open. Just make sure to leave the stone in front of it as the wind can slam it shut and you may be challenged to get back in.
There are two sliding doors to the back balcony, just off of the bedroom, one is glass and one with a sliding grey aluminum panel. Make sure to lock at least one when you leave. I rarely open the kitchen back door as it gets too windy - you'll see what I mean! I also keep a stone in front of the main door to the kitchen, also due to the wind.
Regarding wind and weather, if there is a rainstorm, you’ll want to prepare as I’m across the street from the ocean and it can get intense. This usually means making sure that the front awning is at least halfway down (if there is a rare big storm you might want to lower it all the way down) and all doors are closed. Try to collect anything that can blow away, because it will! Most things will dry though, so don’t worry too much, but do pay attention to the forecast and plan accordingly.
Please feel free to move furniture around. I refurbished the rooftop garden in April 2018. And I'd really appreciate it if you could water the plants when dry - you can play gardener! I always feel more at home with some greenery.
By the way, if you fish, please join the fishermen across the street!
When doing your laundry, I suggest you choose the shortest time option possible, as this machine – while being energy efficient – can take forever to wash a load. I have a container of clothes pins, and you can hang your clothes on the wire near the front edge of the roof on the right, as well as on the back balcony. Be careful to pin things securely as there can be a LOT of wind. Also, please keep the clothes pins in the container on the radiator in the kitchen - they will last longer than if left outdoors.
In the bedroom closets, I have my personal things in the upper right closet. There are spare blankets in the upper left closet, so help yourself. You'll have all the space you need in the bottom closets.
The air conditioning works really well although, if you open the back balcony and front doors, you’ll have more air than you’ll know what to do with. The ceiling fan is new and a good silent alternative. The air conditioning unit also has a heating option which can come in handy during the winter months.
There is also some mosquito netting in the upper left closet as well, but I find them a bit claustrophobic.
I've installed power bars for all of the outlets in the bedroom so that when you go out it's easy to turn everything off. There is also a long extension cord in the bottom drawer in the kitchen, next to the oven. Electricity prices have gone up a lot since the crisis, so please turn things off when not in use. Thank you!
You’ll pretty much be on your own up here. The neighbours have the right to access the rooftop but rarely do. I've often slept outside with the awnings down and had the best sleep! I feel very safe here as it’s a small town and everyone knows everyone.
Two things you'll probably notice:
1. In the bathroom you can often get a whiff of the plumbing, if you know what I mean. This is beyond my control. You might want to invest in some incense, or something along those lines.
2. In the kitchen, I have seen a cockroach. I don't like them anymore than you, but they just visit. This is part and parcel with warm countries and not a reflection of the cleanliness of my home. There should be some spray in the lower cupboard beside the fridge. But really, if you keep things clean they (it) won't bother you.
Please email me any questions or concerns. And I welcome any suggestions to make things better. I want you to have the best time possible. Enjoy!

Summary: Nice appartment on the roof with morning sun on one side (for the breakfast). On the other side couches to enjoy beautiful sunsets over the bay in the evening and a view to Palamidi castle. Within 10 min walk from the old town. Less than 5 min walk from small supermarkets, bakery and cheese shop. Would be happy to come back
