Positive: Staying at Dar Kays was an exceptionally positive experience. The riad is very clean and tastefully designed. Khalid, the owner, and his wife, the architect who designed the renovation, pay close attention to every detail. The included traditional Moroccan breakfast was delicious, and starting each morning on the rooftop with coffee was a peaceful start to the day before heading out. The location is an easy walking distance to some great restaurants, the souks, and other attractions within the Medina. We stayed at Dar Kays during our first visit to Morocco, and Khalid was a generous steward of Moroccan culture. He spent time on two days showing us around and teaching us about Moroccan and Amazigh history, and was kind enough to welcome us into a family member’s home for tea one night. And everyone who works at the riad was lovely. We would wholeheartedly recommend Riad Dar Kays to anyone looking for an a peaceful and traditional experience in Marrakech. Khalid and his wife have put a tremendous amount of care into curating a special experience for guests.
