Tucked in the Tusquittee Valley, The Cottage in the Meadow, is serene beauty and pure Carolina. The perfect cozy cabin from which to explore the pristine mountains, lakes and creeks of far Western North Carolina. Sitting in the midst of a meadow surrounded by horse pastures and mountains on all sides, the cottage sits on an acre of land with beautiful trees and excellent porch sitting for hours of easy reading, gentle conversation and pure relaxing. The back yard features a pool and small hot tub along with an outdoor fire place.
The downstairs has an open concept kitchen with granite countertops and living room. The downstairs bedroom features a queen bed with patchwork quilt and exquisitely tiled bathroom with shower. Upstairs bedroom includes a king bed with small desk and sitting area along with a private bathroom. The living room sleeper couch can be used to accommodate 6 guests with limited privacy and sharing the downstairs bathroom.
The Cottage is the perfect home base to return to while hiking, biking, boating, rafting, golfing or just hanging out by the campfire. Come enjoy!

Summary: Check in was easy. We arrived in the evening and had plenty of outdoor lighting to unload our vehicles. I wish the listing would have said no central air conditioning. The beds arent comfortable, one sagged to the floor and other felt like sleeping on the floor. Upstairs has an awkward lay out especially the shower. Indoor dinning table or coffee table would have been nice, we had to play games on the floor. The pool was not properly maintained, the pump ran from 6 AM to 10 AM only, the chemical levels in the pool did not exist. When we asked for a test strip and used it the levels read None. The pool had white mold covering the ladder and floating in the pool. The skimmer basket was filled with a nasty clear slime. Its very unfortunate because that property was picked because of the pool. We did get to experience a meteor shower which was lovely. The owners showed up daily which was very odd and made us uncomfortable. The gentleman just walked up on the porch without identifying himself. The home as a noce front porch and great back porch.
