This ship inspired, custom built home with separate cottage, rests on an bluff overlooking Oregon's stunning rugged coast. Features include beach access, indoor fireplace, Cowboy Cabin w/ games, and outdoor Spa & gas fire-pit. Just a short drive to the town of Gold Beach and Oregon State Parks.
Main House and Cottage accommodate 10 guests, with 6 beds, 4 bedrooms and 3 bath.
IMPORTANT NOTES
-Main House and Cottage are not rented separately.
-Guest must have a 5-star review or have a guests listed on the reservation that has a 5-star review from a previous VRBO stay.
-Property is not recommended for children under the age of 12.
-Small events and weddings are not permitted through VRBO reservations.

Welcome to the Pirate Cove Retreat. Get swept away with all the romance and beauty the Southern Oregon Coast has to offer. Nestled away in the trees and perched on a high bluff, the Pirate Cove Retreat overlooks a breathtaking view of rocky cliffs, bird covered peninsulas, crashing waves, migrating whales, ferocious storms and sunsets you will remember for a lifetime!
A beautiful drive through the trees from Highway 101 brings you to the Pirate Cove Retreat property overlooking the coastal cliffs and ocean. The property consists of three newly remodeled buildings available to guests, a Main House, Cottage, and a Cowboy Cabin/gaming room. The Main House features a Spa, 2 bedrooms, 2 full baths, and an open space living room, full kitchen and dinning area. The Cottage, located on the second floor of a detached building just a short distance away from Main House, features 2 bedrooms, 1 full bath, and an open space living room, full kitchen and dinning bar. The Cowboy Cabin/gaming room is a perfect sanctuary to unplug and plug-in with a couch, smart TV and gaming console.
MAIN HOUSE FIRST FLOOR
Living Room
Walking in from the front door you step into a beautiful open space living room facing large windows with epic ocean views, and sliding glass doors that open up to the deck, yard and ocean bluff. Plenty of seating for everyone to enjoy the view with a large leather couch, leather love seat, 2 leather swivel chairs, coffee table and smart TV.
Kitchen
Beautiful open space kitchen with ocean views, kitchen island with 4 large cloth backed stools for dinning, granite counter tops, deep sink and pantry. All new stainless steel appliances include side by side refrigerator/freezer, gas burning stove top with griddle and pot filler, gas oven, microwave and dishwasher. Fully stocked kitchen with spices, pots, pans, dinning ware, glass ware, baking ware, blender, drip coffee pot, coffee grinder, electric tea pot and crock pot.
Dinning Area
Located just to the side of the kitchen in an open space area. Dinning table seats 10 with 4 additional seats at kitchen island counter. Large wood table with oversized cloth seats, romantic chandelier and surrounded by windows for stunning ocean views and evening sunsets over dinner.
Queen Bedroom
Separated by a little hallway from the living room for privacy. Large windows make the room feel like its surrounded by the ocean and trees with the luxurious queen sized bed facing away from the west. Exterior door leads out to deck, hot tub and lawn. Features queen bed, two bedside tables each with a lamp, cloth bench at end of bed, open closet with luggage rack and smart TV with Roku. Also to the side of the room is a Cube Queen Murphy pullout bed for additional sleeping. Bedding is provided and guest make up bed if needed.
Full Bathroom
Located in little hallway across from Queen Bedroom. Features a large stand up granite and glass shower, separate deep bathtub, sink with mirror and vanity, and toilet.
Work Space
A small nook to the corner of living room with desk and comfy cloth chair.
Fireplace
Cozy fireplace located in the living room. We ask guests not burn firewood but a Presto Log is provider for each night.
LAUNDRY ROOM
Located in small hallway. Features washer, dryer, cabinets and iron.
MAIN HOUSE SECOND FLOOR
Custom wood stairway with light insets leads up to second floor open space Master Bedroom and en suite bathroom.
Master King Bedroom
Wake up every morning with a stunning view of the ocean as far as the eye can see. King size bed sits in middle of open room facing the ocean, surrounded by large ocean view windows. Entertainment console raises and lowers Roku TV so not to distract from the amazing views. Also features door with small step out balcony, two bedside tables each with a lamp, large cloth reading chair to the side of room, dresser along the back side of headboard, and closet with luggage rack.
Master En Suite Bathroom
There are no doors separating the Master En Suite Bathroom and its features from the Master Bedroom, but all are located in a large open space room with the bathroom located at the backside of the beds large headboard. Bathroom features a large tile and glass rain shower with unique pirate mosaic artwork, two sinks, mirror, vanity and toilet (slightly hidden behind vanity but not completely).
COTTAGE
Cottage is located on the second floor of a separate building detached from the Main House. Perfect for allowing for extra privacy and traveling with multiple families. Full contained and features an open space living room, full kitchen, and dinning bar as well as a Queen Bedroom, Twin Bunk Bed Room, Full Bath and laundry room.

Featuring Cloth Couch, Cloth chair, coffee table, Smart TV, telescope and ocean views.
Cottage Dinning Bar
Located just off of living room with ocean views. Featuring a custom Myrtle Wood Counter with 7 bar stools.
Cottage Kitchen
Located to the side of living room. Full Kitchen with all new appliances including refrigerator/freezer, microwave, gas stove top, gas oven and dishwasher. Also features a sink, drip coffee pot, blender, cook ware and dinning ware.
Cottage Queen Bedroom
Located at end of hallway leading from kitchen. Cabin inspired room featuring cathedral style windows, queen bed, two night stands each with a lamp, dresser, cloth bench, Roku TV and closet with luggage rack.
Cottage Twin Bunk Bedroom
Located in hallway. Features bunk bed with 2 twin size mattresses, end table with lamp, dresser, bean bag chair, Roku TV and closet with luggage rack.
Cottage Full Bathroom
Located in Hallway. Features stand up tile/glass shower, sink, mirror, vanity and toilet.
Cottage Laundry Room
Located in Hallway. Features washer, dryer, cabinets and large stand up mirror.
COWBOY CABIN
A little oasis set aside to escape to, whether its to read a book or game with friends. Detached cabin set aside from Main House with a couch, Wi-Fi, smart TV, Play Station with games, mini fridge, and classic table top Pack-Man arcade game.
HOT TUB/SPA
Outdoor Spa is perfectly located to watch the sunset at the end of each day. Enjoy throughout the year with the propane patio heater to keep you warm.
OUTDOOR AREAS
It would be hard to stay inside with all that fresh ocean air and the sound of the waves.
-Sit back and enjoy it all! The large decks of both the Main House and Cottage feature stunning ocean views, outdoor seating and outdoor propane BBQ's.
-Enjoy a lunch at the picnic table in the yard while watching for whales.
-Practice your putt on the green with our set of golf clubs.
BEACH TRAIL
Beach Trail leads from the property, down to a majestic sandy and rocky beach surrounded by high cliffs, ocean birds and stunning surf!
Use of semi-maintained beach trail is available for sure footed guests to use at their own risk. Hiking down to beach can take about 5 minutes. Please be aware that some guests may find the trail steep and the ground muddy, slippery, and uneven.
Host and homeowner are not responsible for maintaining the trail or the safety of the guests who decide to use the trail. It is not guaranteed that beach trail will always be accessible do to weather and erosion.
PARKING
Large open parking areas with lots of room for trailers and turning around. If you are planning on bringing a trailer or tow behind, please inform host before hand. Sorry, no indoor parking, RV hook-ups, or charging stations.
NEIGHBORHOOD
The Pirate Cove Retreat is located at the end of a dirt road in an unusually spacious neighborhood hidden in the coastal forest off of Highway 101. The property does have neighbors on the north and south sides, that we ask guests to be respectful of, but both properties are significantly separated by trees.
LOCATION
The Pirate Cove Retreat is located just 6 mile drive on Highway 101 north of Gold Beach, Oregon in Curry County.
AIRPORTS
The largest airport with the most flights is in Medford, 3 hours away.
Crescent City, CA, less than a hour away is smaller with limited flights out of Oakland. Also, be sure to reserve a rental car way ahead of time, as they have limited inventory.
Brookings and Gold Beach do have a small private airports.
INTERNET/CELL PHONE COVERAGE/UTILITIES
WiFi in Cottage can be difficult. Main House WiFi us usually very dependable but it can be affected by coastal weather conditions. The home provides Star-link internet and WIFI for guests during their stay with excellent coverage. Most cell phone carriers get full reception at the property. Guests should be aware that the issues related to the coastal location can cause interruption throughout the year to both internet, utilities and cell phone reception that are outside of the host's control.
