You can easily escape the hustle and bustle of your everyday life by traveling only 60 miles northeast from the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul to The Chalet on Lake Wapogasset! The Chalet on Lake Wapo is located just outside of Amery, Wisconsin on a 2,000-acre body of water known as Lake Wapogasset and Bear Trap Lake. Our rental property is situated on an elevated 1.5-acre lot on the eastern shore of Lake Wapogasset and is located on a dead-end road which provides privacy and amazing lake views.
The Chalet:
The main level of this spacious home has been completely remodeled (in 2018) to create an expansive open floor plan which is perfect for family gatherings and holidays. The large kitchen and dining room offer beautiful views of the lake while cooking and enjoying a meal with your friends and family. You can relax comfortably by the gas fireplace in the main living room when the weather is cool or enjoy the warm, summer evenings out on the deck.
This home was designed to accommodate multiple families and large groups. There are six bedrooms and a bunk room that will comfortably sleep up to 18 people. There are four bathrooms and each one is equipped with a stand-up shower. The main floor master bedroom has beautiful lake views with ensuite bathroom which was completely remodeled with high quality finishes.
The Property:
Outside the home you will enjoy a massive 500 square foot covered deck which is a perfect place for outdoor entertainment. There is plenty of seating to relax outdoors, enjoy a good conversation, or a stunning Lake Wapo sunset in the evenings. There is a gas grill and fire pit located on the property. You can sit by a campfire, roast marshmallows, and share your favorite moments and stories with family and friends.
On the lake shore, there is a boat house with a deck on top which provides a nice place to sit and look out over the lake. This is a perfect place to take in an evening sunset, watch bald eagles soar in the sky, and listen to the relaxing sound of water splashing onto the shoreline.
You can spend an entire day on the dock and enjoy many lake activities such as, fishing, swimming, paddle-boarding, canoeing or kayaking. Kids will enjoy many hours on the floating lily pad and floating swim raft that is provided for their enjoyment.
There is an expansive front yard (opposite the lake) where you will find plenty of green space to play bag-toss and bocce ball.
The Area:
Amery, WI is known as “The City of Lakes”. Along with Lake Wapogasset and Bear Trap Lake, the city sits nestled in between North and South Twin Lake and the Apple River, as well as a few smaller bodies of water to the north. Amery offers many restaurants, bars, a grocery store, and multiple gas station/c-stores, all within a 5 minute drive from the Chalet on Lake Wapo.
