Positive: The property was clean, spacious, quiet and is located in a lovely neighbourhood. We enjoyed watching the lovely sunsets. The villa is only 4km drive from Calheta's sandy beach for a swim in the sea and some good restaurants. The showers in the villa were great and the small garden area was nice.
Negative: We stayed for 11 nights and a change of bed linen and towels would have been good. The synthetic bedding really isn't nice, feather would be great...... at least the sheets were cotton, I suppose. We like cooking and the kitchen wasn't as well equipped as it could be. Also more mugs and glasses are needed, if your party is more than 3. There are no table lamps at all in the sitting and dining area so the harsh overhead lights are terrible, no atmosphere for a winter stay whatsoever, especially when the decor is so bland. Even 3 decent, large table lights would make a considerable difference. In the smaller double room there was only one bedside light and in the single room the light cable is so short that it can't be plugged in, which makes it pointless and useless. The swimming pool is meant to be cleaned once a week, it wasn't. There is no pool net, so we couldn't even get the leaves out. We didn't pay to heat it as it was ridiculously expensive and although we still swam in it, we preferred the beach.
