Positive: The Lakeside House, is set on the Retallack Resort. It was private, with ample space and a in a fairly tranquil setting overlooking a little lake on site. It is also close to Newquay and in a good location to get around Cornwall. The swimming was good and the restaurant was nice. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Negative: Unfortunately the property needed a little TLC, with some damage here and there, and some things not working, such as one of the outside porch lights on a night. The deck chairs upstairs on the balcony need replacing or cleaning, however these little issues were only a slight problem, and some wear and tear on these properties is to be expected with how many different people will stay in them. The hum from the generator outside kept my father awake a little but earplugs helped with that. I enjoyed the stay, and would stay again, as the location is good, and the property, although requiring some TLC and maintenance was still nice, just be aware that out of season a lot of the resort activities are not on during the week, and breakfast in the restaurant is also not available during the week.
