Custom built in 2023, the Eco Bee is an energy-efficient home designed to maximise light and air. This 47m2 pod features a private courtyard, undercover patio, a step-free layout and unrestricted street parking. Situated in a vibrant residential suburb west of the CBD, airport and beaches, with full kitchen and laundry, making it a great place for work or leisure. Nestled in a north-facing garden with a working bee hive, the "Eco Bee" name celebrates our neighbourhood's market garden heritage.
Eco Bee is a custom-designed, step-free, energy-efficient ancillary home tailored for my elderly parents. As a BnB, it is an ideal home away from home, particularly suitable for guests planning extended stays. The studio comfortably accommodates two guests, offering a quiet, stylish and functional environment with exceptional privacy and security.
The home features an open design with well-insulated walls, a high-quality ceiling fan (air-con) and commercial-grade, double-glazed windows and sliding doors to promote natural ventilation. Energy efficiency is evident with lower consumption of water and electricity supported by our 8000L rainwater tank plumbed for toilet flushing, 10Kw solar panels and a 320L solar hot water system. A large north-facing window provides warmth during winter, while high clerestory windows distribute natural light evenly throughout the day.
The fully equipped kitchen includes a plumbed French door fridge and freezer (with water and ice dispenser), a Nespresso coffee pod machine, Smeg microwave, Asko oven, Whirlpool induction cooktop, Miele dishwasher and washing machine.
The spacious bathroom opens to a small courtyard filled with greenery, offering an open shower feel. Designed for accessibility, it features a floating vanity, a large shower and ample space around the toilet, ensuring comfort and ease of use for all guests.
Eco Bee Studio is a self-contained unit, close to but separate from other dwellings. It has no shared spaces. The studio is fully equipped to provide a comfortable and independent stay for one or two guests. Popular among business travellers, the studio includes all necessary amenities for a productive visit. Longer stays are welcome. Happy to discuss rates to accommodate extended visits.
The perfect stay if you have a loved one at the Royal Adelaide Hospital, seeing a game at Adelaide Oval, or visiting the City of Churches for all her glory, this luxurious stay is superbly central for enjoying Adelaide at her best. It’s a short walk to Henley Beach Road for a variety of cafes, shops and dining experiences, or Brickworks Marketplace for your shopping essentials or mall time fun on those rainy days. The Thebarton Theatre for live music events is 600 metres away, there’s Ice Arena for an afternoon of fun ice-skating or watching the ice-hockey just 1.4kms away, or there is the relaxing Indica Medispa and Wellness centre for the ultimate personal indulgence along South Road.
You can also enjoy a local day trip exploring the beauty of Adelaide’s CBD with its Rundle Mall and markets. If the beach is what you fancy, Henley Beach is 7.5 kms away, or for something closer, stroll along the River Torrens which is less than a kilometre away (there’s 35 kilometres of walking or cycling trails between Athelstone through the Adelaide CBD to West Beach).
If wineries are what you love, it’s about an hour to Tanunda in the Barossa Valley, or an hour to the east to get to the Adelaide Hills. If you make a day trip to see both, it’s around 160 kilometres of driving with loads to see.

The quickest and one of the most convenient ways from the Adelaide International Airport is by taxi. The trip takes approximately 5 minutes, the estimated cost for a taxi ride is between $16 to $20.
If you opt for the Adelaide Metro J1 bus from the Airport, you should get off at Stop 3 on Henley Beach Road. From there, it’s just a 5 minute short walk.
For those with a car, there's the convenience of unlimited, free street parking right in front of the house.

2) This studio is non-serviced. Should you require a full service (change of linen, full clean and amenities top up) during your stay, the cost is $120 EFTPOS available.

Level 1 Plug in charger (2kW - 3.6kW or 10 - 15 Amps) can be accommodated between 10am - 3pm on a sunny day free of charge.
5) Cot and High Chair - we have a cot and a high chair available if requested for hire, cost is $55 per stay which includes the mattress and linen.
6) We can recommend a babysitter if required, please ask for further details.
7) Given our proximity to the airport, some plane sounds are inevitable. However, our studios are built with double-glazed windows, solid doors and premium insulation to guarantee your peace and quiet. Keeping windows and doors closed enhances tranquillity. Rest assured, all of our guests have reported peaceful and private stays so far.
HOUSE RULES
Please be mindful that while you are on holiday, you are still located in a residential neighbourhood where members of households may need to attend work, study or social responsibilities. We ask that you abide by all of the following rules during your stay:
NOISE LEVELS
Quiet hours are from 8 pm-8 am. Please have all music and loud activities turned down during these periods. Parties and offensive behaviour is also prohibited. Any evidence or complaint about this behaviour will put an immediate end to your stay.
PARKING
You must abide by all parking regulations and rules during your trip. Please ensure that you are not blocking any driveways or neighbours when your vehicles are parked.
SMOKING, ALCOHOL AND ILLICIT SUBSTANCES
Smoking is prohibited inside of the property, however, you are free to smoke using the outdoor dining area so long as all of your ashes and all buds are disposed of properly. Alcohol must be consumed mindfully and responsibly. No illicit substances are permitted on the property.
PETS
Pets are not permitted.
BREAKAGES
If you notice or create and breakages, please contact us immediately so we can address this. Accidents happen which we all understand, however, any breakages due to inappropriate behaviour will be billed to you.
LATE CHECK OUT
Our cleaners are on a busy schedule. If they arrive and you have not checked out there will be an additional charge of $100 per hour.
IDENTIFICATION
We require a copy of Government photo ID prior to arrival. We do not store or share your ID. Also a Check In Form is required to be completed.
LOST KEYS
If you lose the keys then you will be charged for replacement.
If you lock yourself out of the property there is a $100 call out fee.
A deposit of $150 is charged until keys, cards or remotes are returned.
BBQ
Please clean after use. Extra cleaning will be charged if required.
BINS
Please place rubbish in the external bins and place on the street for collection if full.
