Known for the best hunting around by locals and out-of-state visitors, you can find us by searching Northwest Region, Mitchell County, 167 West 30th Drive, Downs, Kansas, 67437 (VRBO listing #662471). With three bedrooms and a full kitchen, this fully furnished farmhouse is available for a two night minimum or monthly rental for groups, families, or hunting/fishing clubs. Great place to stay and relax out in the country or use as a base camp for geese, duck, quail, pheasant, or turkey hunting on private acreage.The farmhouse is also located near one of largest public hunting areas in the state. For tournament or leisure fishing, golfing, swim beaches, water sports, or hiking trails, Waconda Lake and the Lakeside Park and Golf Course at the Glen Elder State Park is a short eight mile drive. Our forth generation farmhouse was recently renovated by adding a new roof, siding, central air, hot water heater, and a gas stove, but kept the original trim work, wood flooring, and charm. After an active day, unwind with comfortable décor and beautiful sunset views, or enjoy the night sky while cooking s'mores in the outdoor fire pit. Summary: Super comfy old farm house. Very relaxing accommodations after many miles covered pheasant hunting. This is an older house and has that older house charm. The house has been updated with modern amenities including good WiFi/internet access. We brought our own streaming device but there are apps on the tv you can sign into. If you like. Just be sure to sign out! Would book again if we head to Downs next year.
