Travel Purpose: leisure
Positive: The Owner was very helpful, he came and made sure I had accessed the property and my room on arrival. He appeared interested in his guests and was able to sort out the table lamp that I could not get to work. I did tell him that I expected a kettle in the room but He said there were kettles in rooms of his other properties. The bed was comfortable and other than music or TV and talking from another room at 2 am in the morning, it was quiet.
Negative: There was no kettle so to make a hot drink I had to go downstairs to the main kitchen then carry boiling water back upstairs which carried danger of tripping and scalding myself. The main staircase to the upstairs is steep, which I found difficult going up and down to the bathroom on the lower ground floor especially in the middle of the night. The 2 steps into the room were very steep and I had to go down them backwards, I found them difficult to go up and down especially if I had something in my hand. There was nothing to hold on to to support myself. The bathroom was on the lower ground floor and this was a challenge in the middle of the night as I had to get up the 2 room steps, then down the main stairs as well as another steep step to lower ground whilst trying not to disturb anyone else, then return the same way to my room again. I did not feel comfortable washing or showering in the bathroom as it had personal toiletries in and the floor was sticky.
Summary: I booked a budget room and got what I paid for.
