Casa Compalo is located in the small and quiet hamlet of Brejos da Carregueira de Cima in the Comporta region. Comporta has a Mediterranean climate with dry hot summers and mild winters, the area is known for it's fishing, agriculture and rice fields. Comporta has a long stunning coastline made up of several sandy beaches and deep blue sea, several of these beautiful beaches can be reached within a 10 minute drive from the villa. Lisbon's Portela Airport is located 1 hour and 15 minutes drive from Casa Compalo. This villa is a fantastic choice if you are looking for a relaxing and peaceful holiday, great for friends or families.
The villa has a simplistic, light and modern décor with concrete floors, high ceilings and large windows which offer fantastic views of the countryside. The characterful furniture and the splashes of colour throughout the property give the villa a more homely feel. Casa Compalo can accommodate up to 8 guests making it ideal for larger groups.
There are 4 light and airy bedrooms; 3 bedrooms with double beds and 1 bedroom with twin beds. This villa has 4 modern bathrooms with beautiful exposed concrete features. The open communal living space includes a fully equipped kitchen, a spacious dining area and comfy lounge with a fireplace. In this lovely area you will see more of the smooth exposed concrete floor and ceiling in addition to large windows that make the area bright and frame the peaceful outside views.
Outside you will find a large decking area with private swimming pool, seating and sun loungers ready for you to enjoy and relax. Here you can further admire the tranquil view and breathe in the fresh scent of the pine trees. In this area you will also find an outdoor dining set and a barbecue that can be easily accessed through the kitchen side door, ideal for enjoying a long warm evening outside together.

Location:
Casa Compalo is located in Brejos da Carregueira de Cima, a small quiet hamlet surrounded mainly by pine forests and rice fields. The nearby small village of Carvalhal can be reached by car in 10 minutes or on foot in 35 minutes, here you will find some helpful amenities such as cafes, restaurants, small supermarkets, a bakery and a petrol station. Larger shops and supermarkets and other facilities can be found in the village of Comporta located at a 10 minute drive from the villa.
The region of Comporta is known for it's natural beauty, long sandy beaches, rice fields and vineyards. Comporta village is a lovely place to spend the day, this traditional Portuguese fishing village is lined with narrow cobbled streets and white washed houses with blue trims and terracotta roofs, here you will find quaint shops selling hand made items, a small local produce market and even be able to see nesting stalks. From Comporta you will also be able to take wine tasting tours and horse riding tours along the beach and through the rice fields.
There are several beautiful beaches to choose from in the area, both Carvalhal beach and Pego beach are located at about 15 minutes drive from the villa and are both well worth the visit. Carvalhal is a lovely sandy beach surrounded by dunes. There are 2 restaurants where you can enjoy some traditional Portuguese cuisine. There is umbrella and sun bed hire available and some of the top activities to take part in are surfing, kite surfing and bodyboarding. Pego beach is located just after Carvalhal, it is a stunning and spacious long stretch of beach backed by sand dunes and pine trees, great for a nice walk, lounging in the sun and having a swim. This beach boasts of calmer waters and golden sand, there is a restaurant and snack bar on site and facilities to hire loungers and umbrellas.
If you fancy venturing further afield then the fantastic capital city of Lisbon is 1 hour and 15 minutes drive away. Visit the two 16th century UNESCO World Heritage Sites: The picturesque Limestone Belém Tower located on the river and the impressive Jerónimos Monastery where you will find the famous tombs of explorer Vasco da Gama and poet Luís de Camões. Other places of interest include São Jorge Castle which offers breathtaking views of the city, o Padrão dos Descobrimentos, a dramatic monument erected in commemoration of the discoveries and explorations of Portugal and Praça do Comércio the large historical square which opens towards the
Tagus River. While in Lisbon don't forget to try the traditional Portuguese custard tart known as Pastéis de Belém and hop on one of the iconic yellow trams!
