Welcome to our historic one hundred year old home called Captain's Quarters. It reminds us of the view from the mast of a clipper ship. The overlook of Lake Michigan is a 50 mile panorama providing magnificent sunsets. This historic home was once owned by Al Capone's attorney, "Easy Eddie" from the 1930's. The home is also related to the naming of O'Hare Airport as Butch O'Hare once lived here. The 4,000 sq. ft. home has 3 levels and 3 and one half baths. It is filled with decorum from around the world, including a Chinese bed from Shanghai. There is an upper deck off the master bedroom and a surround deck on the main level with dining arrangements for 8 to 10 people. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you may need. As there is no beach access due to the height of the cliff, it is only a short three mile drive to St. Joseph's city center, amusement park, and beach while Rocky Glen Park and Haggar Beach are also in close proximity.

Summary: We were in town for our daughters wedding and had 12 adult family members stay at the Captains Quarters. The bedrooms and number of bathrooms accommodated all well. Everyone enjoyed the layout of the house, the space it provided with comfort and the beautiful view of Lake Michigan. We had our newly extended family join us for a gathering and it could not have gone any better, room to roam and enjoy.
