Although it’s a rural neighborhood, there is plenty to do. The former owners of Canyon House live nearby and have a fully operational outfitting business (Wilderness Connection) that offers horseback rides, white-water rafting, and zip lining. Historic Gardiner, the only year-round entrance to Yellowstone Park, is a short 20 minutes away. A step back in time to the Old West, Gardiner’s main street has restaurants, art galleries, gift shops, gas stations, a grocery store and a small pharmacy.
The Yellowstone River is 4 miles away and is the longest undammed river in the continental US with fantastic trout fishing and white-water rafting. You must purchase a fishing license to fish there. It's easy to fish from the banks, only minutes from the house, or hire a guide to take 1-2 anglers via drift boat. Guides provide shuttles, all fly-fishing gear including rods, reels, and flies, as well as lunch and instruction. A perfect experience for novice or expert fishing folks. The river also offers exciting white-water rafting for the thrill-seekers in your crowd (or tubing for the mellower ones).
Yellowstone National Park, about 20 minutes away, features world-famous geysers, abundant wildlife, and landscapes of stunning beauty. You can explore on your own or take advantage of superb wildlife tours.
Other nearby attractions include the newly built Yellowstone Hot Springs, just 4miles away on the Yellowstone River before at the intersection of Corwin Road and highway 89. The wonderful Chico Hot Springs is a short 20 minute drive north. There are three yearly rodeos during the summer. The first is in June in Gardiner, the second is over the 4th of July in Livingston and the final is the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) which takes place late July or early August.
