About the property
This Grade II-listed Jacobean barn conversion is a delightful holiday home, perfect for multigenerational families and large friendship groups to enjoy. Located on a small family-run farm in the rural and picturesque countryside of Devon, you will have access to an open-plan living space, a private indoor heated pool and a private garden. Should you wish to venture further afield, local market towns, gorgeous beaches and the historic city of Exeter are just a drive away.
The space
Brimbles Barn is located at the entrance to the farm and split over two floors. Complete with reclaimed timber and unique features, the décor is brimming with character, earthy tones and rustic charm throughout.
As you enter the property through the glass French doors, you will be greeted by an open-plan kitchen/diner with floor-to-ceiling windows. The kitchen is well equipped with plenty of space to socialise and prepare delicious meals, and there is a large dining table and 12 chairs. All the essentials are provided including an electric range oven and hob, a microwave, a fridge/freezer, a coffee pod machine and a dishwasher. Located just a short walk across the courtyard, there is a utility room complete with American style washing machine and dryer and an additional freezer.
There is a door leading directly from the kitchen to the jewel in the crown of this property, the private heated indoor pool. Open between 10am and 7pm every day, this is the ideal space for all ages to relax and have fun, whatever the weather.
As you venture further into the property you are greeted by a snug with a Smart TV which can be used as a TV/games room or a quiet space for remote working if required. There is a stable door which gives access to the enclosed private garden.
There are two bedrooms on the ground floor. The first bedroom features two twin beds; the second bedroom features a beautiful king-size bed, an en-suite shower room and French doors leading out to the private courtyard.
There is also a shared family bathroom on the ground floor with a shower over the bath.
As you head up the stairs to the first floor you are immediately greeted by a spacious sitting room, complete with a glazed ceiling on one side, exposed wooden beams and a cosy log burner for those cool autumn/winter evenings. This luxurious room comprises of a large, sectional sofa and a single armchair, which is the perfect spot for getting stuck into your favourite book. There is also a Smart TV, making it the ideal set-up for a movie night with your loved ones.
The rest of the first floor is finished with three additional bedrooms. The first twin bedroom is full of rustic charm, with original features throughout. There is also an additional twin bedroom with a set of cosy bunk beds and a family bathroom along the hallway with a shower over the bath. The final bedroom has a beautiful king-size bed, vaulted ceilings, a stunning feature window and an en-suite shower room.
To the rear of the property, there is a private garden with a small patio, garden furniture with space for 10 people to eat and a BBQ (from Easter to October) which is ideal for alfresco dining during the summer months. In addition to this, you will have full access to the main farm and the facilities within it, including an outdoor kitchen, a play area for the little ones and breath-taking views of the countryside to enjoy.
Guest access
The owners will greet you on arrival and show you to the property. The Pig Shed outdoor kitchen and enclosed dog-free play area are available to guests (and are sometimes used by the owners). The Pig Shed has a small bathroom, fridge/freezer and food prep area together with a built-in BBQ and a fire pit. There is plenty of seating and it is the perfect place for an alfresco meal or sundowner.
Sustainability
The property includes reclaimed timber throughout the building and has retained original features wherever possible. Heating and hot water are supplied via a wood-fired biomass boiler.

Book with confidence: If your booking is affected by new Government travel restrictions which were not known at the time of booking, and you are legally unable to travel, we will arrange with the property owner to refund 100% of your holiday cost.
