Summary: First the good: the apartment is spacious and very bright, and the location is excellent, quiet but still close to restaurants and the tube. Great neighborhood. The property managers are well intentioned and friendly. Now the not so good: the apartment is poorly equipped and falling apart. The toilet doesn’t flush properly and the bathroom faucet doesn’t work well. The paint is peeling off the walls. The shower and bathtub had soap and shampoo left over from the last guest. Many of the cupboards in the unit are full of junk: hundreds of pieces of old mail, clothes, discarded electronics and unused equipment. The kitchen was poorly equipped: not enough glasses, mugs or cutlery, and almost no cooking equipment. One of the beds sagged because the wooden slats under the mattress were broken. There were insufficient hangers and no welcoming amenities like coffee, tea, etc. (some old stuff left by the precious guests). The managers, though well-intentioned, were ineffective. The TV didn’t work when I arrived; four days later they suggested that I contact BT myself to troubleshoot the problem. And when I sent them a list of the issues mentioned above, rather than fix any of them, their response was to ask that I send them pictures (they did offer a 5% discount). If you want to rent this place, I’d recommend first confirming that all of these problems have been addressed. And in spite of the problems, I still loved my month-long stay here and would go back if stuff is fixed up.
