The Cottage is single-storey with uninterrupted panoramic views to Haytor, across Dartmoor from every room. Think exposed granite walls, high beams, slate floors with three bedrooms, all with those fabulous views.
If you love Dartmoor and an outside way of life, then look no further! 2 miles from Widecombe-in-the-Moor and with direct access to open moorland the cottage has its own outdoor space looking to Dartmoor farmland beyond. A fantastic place for star-gazing, relaxing and finding your own space.
Accommodation comprises a spacious lounge diner with many original features. The lounge and kitchen space is completely open plan, with a focus on the large woodburner, but allowing you to entertain, eat, watch TV etc as a family. You can open the door from this room directly out to the rear of the property with the access to the Moor, or you can simply sit outside here and take in the views.
The three bedrooms comfortably sleep six, with a master double ensuite and two double bedrooms. The largest room is at the end of the corridor, farthest away from the lounge. The central bedroom is the twin room and the bedroom nearest the kitchen/ living space has a double bedroom. There is a family bathroom off this corridor with a bath, where you can not only soak up the bubbles, but also soak in the view!
The property has a garden to the rear allowing direct access to Dartmoor. The garden is not enclosed as we prefer to maintain the feeling of direct access to the Moor, but you may want to bear this in mind if bringing a dog which likes to roam!
The cottage is perfect if you want to be on the Moor and love the Moor for all it's ruggedness and wilderness. We welcome up to a maximum of 2 pets with each booking. N.b. Wifi capability in the cottage is limited. You can access emails but realistically, that’s the best we have. Due to the location of the cottage, we have to rely on a satellite connection which is patchy, especially when the weather is poor or very warm with high pressure weather systems. Perfect if you want to get away from it all- not great if you have to arrange a conference call!
