Positive: It was pretty quiet most of the time - we could hear the Eurodisco being blasted by the neighbouring holiday park one night and we were glad we weren’t staying there! The chalets were reasonably well-equipped and it was nice that there was enough room outside for us to put 3 tables together and eat as a family. The swimming pool was in good condition and not crowded. Great location for exploring the Vendée by car, there are some wonderful beaches within a 15 minute drive. The staff were friendly and helpful and we had a lovely time staying there.
Negative: The site and facilities were a bit dated and could do with being refreshed, and I don’t know how well the chalets are cleaned between stays (there was definitely more than a week’s worth of dust under the beds when we were sweeping up on departure day!) but I think that’s probably reflected in the price we paid for the stay and the chalets definitely weren’t dirty. Officially they also stick to the archaic and illogical ‘Speedos rule’ for the pool, which is unnecessary because it’s not a public pool so they can set their own rules. This initially caused some stress to my autistic teenager, until we explained the situation to the staff and he was allowed to wear his usual swimwear.
