Positive: From the moment we arrived, this beautiful lodge truly felt like a 10/10 stay. We reached after dark following a long journey, but the place was warm, spotless, and so welcoming. Thoughtful little touches — like milk left in the fridge — made all the difference, and the Christmas tree and lights created a wonderfully festive atmosphere for our New Year’s break. The real magic revealed itself the next morning. Pulling back the curtains to that breathtaking view is something I’ll never forget. Each sunrise brought its own palette of colours reflecting across the water, and every morning felt unique and serene. We were incredibly lucky to spot dolphins playing in the bay in late December, and later in the trip we even saw seals at the Breakwater, just a short drive or scenic coastal walk away. The lodge itself truly is a home-from-home: peaceful, cosy, beautifully clean, and equipped with everything you could need. Carol has created such a special place, and we’re very grateful to her for sharing it. The nearby town of Brixton is friendly and welcoming, with some great restaurants and a lovely local feel. This peaceful haven is somewhere I’d recommend to anyone looking to unwind and reconnect with nature — and I’d absolutely love to return one day.
