Cosy Cottage in Auchterarder, 30 minute walk to Gleneagles. Close to Auchterarder High Street and Golf Course. Great base for trips to Perth, Stirling, Crieff, Glasgow and Edinburgh.

Located within the village of Auchterarder, surrounded by the Perthshire Hills and picturesque villages, this recently refurbished cottage is 1 mile from Gleneagles, famous for golf, fine dining and its world renowned spa. The village of Auchterarder high street (2 min walk), has a selection of shops, cafes, restaurants and delicatessens. Perth and Stirling is a 20-minute drive, with Edinburgh and Glasgow less than an hour away. There is a wide variety of golf courses, horse riding and excellent hill walking. All on the one level there is a spacious modern wooden floor open-plan living/dining room with TV. Separate kitchen, one double bedroom with en-suite and a further Twin bedroom.

Summary: Firstly, our communications with Jim were excellent. He responded promptly and was extremely helpful in rearranging dates and accommodating requests. The property was brilliantly situated for us as we needed a base in Auchterarder in order to visit a range of relatives in the surrounding area. There was always parking right outside the door. We thought it was very well stocked in terms of kitchen utensils, crockery, cutlery etc and it was great to have the back garden to dry the washing and I sat out and had my breakfast there every morning. You are in the middle of a town so it's not going to have stunning views but less than a minute's drive and you're gazing on gorgeous Scottish hills. The main bedroom at the back is very spacious with a great shower in the ensuite. There's a bath in the main bathroom. The second bedroom has two single beds which was perfect for our family set-up. This room did get very light very early in the morning, which one offspring liked and the other found disturbing! A blackout blind in there might be good.The dining and living areas were spacious and the glass doors kept everything light. The Tv and wifi worked well.I have to say, the weather for our whole stay was amazing! Bright, sunny and warm. I don't think Jim had any influence over that, but it was wonderful! It did mean we did not have to use the heating so I can't comment on that, but I can imagine it is a cosy place in winter. We had a great stay and will definitely book it again next time we visit.
