The space
Built in the 1890s and largely constructed with materials shipped over from Europe, this historic mansion is one of the few remaining with so many of the original finishes preserved - including the arrival wash area for those traveling by horse to clean off the dust and dirt from their clothes, located adjacent to the front door!
Canada's national newspaper, the Globe and Mail featured the mansion in an article and described it as: "For instance, while admiring the ionic columns that hold up the front porch of the home originally constructed for steel executive, Francis Whitton, this 1898 Queen Anne on Bay Street, one can't help but notice the word "Norton" carved into the stone, with what looks to be a sliced off "ia" at the end. Later text reveals that the home was named after the Nortonia, the ship that carried the home's building materials over from England, and further, that the "current owners do not know why, or how" the last two letters were removed."

Will NOT host large, boisterous parties where the majority of the guests are under the age of 25 and acting foolish. The exterior of the property is under video surveillance and the inside of the home is equipped with a noise monitor.
Snow removal: Guests are expected to clear snow when it accumulates to 3cm (approximately 1.2 inches) or more. For snowfall exceeding 3cm, professional snow removal services will be arranged. In the event of any delays in the contractor's arrival, please be advised that we cannot assume liability for slip-and-fall incidents.
*Snow removal is not arranged for bookings more than 28 days.
- If you plan any event. Please let us know prior to booking, as price per night will be determined on the nature of event.
- Before booking, please let us know if you will be expecting any visitors. This rule is in place to avoid large gatherings and to protect our neighbourhood.
- No pets allowed due to allergies.
- Smokers: You may smoke outside but please dispose of the cigarette butts properly and do not leave it on the ground.
-Late checkout: Please request a late checkout a day before checking out. If it will be possible we will be happy to extend it. Unauthorized late checkout will be charged $80/half hour, this is our cleaner's wait cost.
- In the event, that a house rule is broken, we will have to request the guests to vacate the property. The entire security deposit will be charged for breaking any of the House Rules above.
