Summary: We had three bears and four bear encounters while we were there. Two of them walked up onto the deck! Disclaimer: There was no food left on the deck and we disposed of trash properly in the bear proof trash cans. Overall a great experience there. Some of the typical rental wear was found but not enough to complain about it at check-in. Cleanliness was like I said 4/5 star. Clean but not as clean as my home. The outside fireplace wasn't working but since it was July we didn't bother with trying to get it fixed. The picture of the outdoor fireplace and TV really sold the property to us BUT once we were there the view of the mountains was so amazing that we never really sat there. Some more tall chairs on the main floor deck would be a welcome addition since the two that are there were always full. I would describe the property as on the first ridge away from the Smoky Mountain park so there are several cabins close together on the road there to take advantage of the view. For most of our trip that wasn't a problem but on the last night someone moved in next door and their music and loud voices late at night weren't appreciated. We will stay here again if we go back to the area.
